Holy Trinity Call Committee Updates
Our team has been busy preparing to interview and select our new pastor. Over the past few weeks, we have developed a final list of interview questions for candidates. We have also met to determine a plan for how the interviews will be conducted. We have received a slate of candidates and are currently meeting to review their Rostered Leader Profiles.
What to expect next
The name of the candidate is not shared publicly in communications until after an affirmative call vote, and the candidate has informed their congregation. Once the Call Committee chooses a candidate, a report will be shared with the Council. The candidate’s name is shared Only with our Council. This report will include what we see as strengths of the candidate as well as ways in which the candidate and congregation will stretch each other. The Council will prepare a compensation package which will then be sent to the Pastor Mark Lingle, Associate to the Bishop, for review. The Council will then meet with the candidate to discuss compensation, start date, moving concerns, and other details related to call. At this point Council will confirm the Call Committee’s recommendation and approve the compensation package. A special Congregational Meeting will be called to vote on the candidate. A vote of ⅔ majority of our congregation is needed to call the candidate.
Holy Trinity will follow a simple majority to approve the compensation package. The candidate will be given time to prepare for their new call and will then give a 2 weeks’ notice.
The Call Committee will then become a mutual ministry team for our new pastor, to endure there is continuity and support for the first six months of their ministry.
Blessings on your day,
Judi Case, Call Committee Chair
