FAREWELL FOR NOW
Dear friends in Christ,
This coming Sunday, May 25, will be my final Sunday with you at Holy Trinity until September, as I take up my seasonal ministry at Emmanuel Church, the little Episcopal summer chapel in Manchester-by-the-Sea where I have served for many years. While I am looking forward to returning to that beloved seaside community and sharing worship with its faithful congregation, it is always bittersweet to step away from all of you here at Holy Trinity, especially after such a rich and joyous Easter season.
I will deeply miss our Sunday worship, the warmth of your fellowship, and the many ways we share in the life of Christ together. Please know that you will remain in my prayers throughout the summer months. If you happen to find yourself in the North Shore area, I would be delighted to welcome you to Emmanuel Church. Our services are held at 10:00 a.m. every Sunday, and I will be presiding and preaching each week except August 17. More information can be found at www.emmanuelmanchester.org.
I look forward to returning to Holy Trinity in September, refreshed and renewed, and to hearing how the Spirit has continued to move among you in my absence. In the meantime, I encourage you to embrace this summer season as a time for rest, reflection, and renewal—whether that be through time in nature, travel, reconnecting with loved ones, or simply enjoying the slower rhythms that summer can offer. And please don’t work too hard! Remember what Mark Twain once said: “Summer is that time when it is too hot to do the job that it was too cold to do last winter.”
With gratitude and affection,
Pastor Luther
