Beloved in Christ,
You blow me (& Rowan) away! Your welcome on Sunday made my heart sing! And then, on Tuesday morning, I/we were greeted by your remarkable gift basket! You are generous, thoughtful, and you can all sorts of goodies! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
This is an exciting time as we begin to get acquainted and explore faith and ministry together. I'm eager to learn more about all of you. Toward that end, I have two requests and a caveat:
Request #1: Please wear your nametags. Every pastor wishes to have the gift of remembering names immediately but very few have it; sadly, I'm not among the chosen. I beg your forbearance as I learn your names. I strive to be diligent about accurately pronouncing names. If I stumble, please correct me until I get it right.
Request #2: Please help me get to know you by completing a Household Info for the New Pastor form. Hard copies are available. Thanks to Mark Donahue's wizardry, an online version can be completed at: htelc.com/aboutme.
The caveat: As a young adult, I wondered why clergy seemed so distracted on Sunday mornings. I later learned that pastors are so focused on details related to worship, preaching, and connecting with people that we can't absorb much more. If you'd like me to remember something or to follow up with you, please hand me a note or send me a message at pastor@htelc.com.
Again, thank you for the amazing welcome!
God's blessings and my heartfelt thanks,
Pastor Sue (& Rowan)
