July 2025: Holy Trinity is going back to Tanzania

For the first time time since COVID hit, Holy Trinity is going back to Tanzania! Seven of us leave the last week of July—Kem and Ken Taylor, the Stephen’s family, and the Kasiks. It’s our first trip without Joe Lugalla, and without Joe, Bega Kwa Bega (Shoulder to Shoulder) in St. Paul has helped put the trip together, flight plans, scheduling, hotels, etc.

We’ll connect with Sappy Lugalla as soon as we land in Dar es Salaam. She’s moved back to Tanzania permanently with Joe gone because she has both friends and family there. The following day, after visiting with Sappy, we’ll fly to Iringa to stay at the Lutheran Center and check in with Bega Kwa Bega folk. There’s lots to see and do in Iringa—historical sites, interesting shops, good restaurants, and museums.

On Saturday we’ll drive to Isimani to stay overnight and worship with our community. It’ll be wonderful to reconnect with old friends, see their new wood-working shop for boys, and hear all they’ve accomplished. Included in our group of old friends are Pastor Livingstone and family, whose photos grace the bulletin board in the BGLibrary.

Once back in Iringa we’ll pack our bags and head to Ruaha for a three-day safari, then fly from Ruaha to Zanzibar for a few days before returning to Dar. We’ll be back home mid-August. We’ll have lots of stories and pictures to share!
