August 2017: "Be Patient"

Posted by Mark Donahue on Thursday, August 17, 2017 @ 10:19 AM

Summer is going by way too fast.  I don’t know about you, but I am ready to keep it around a little longer.  Although we have been enjoying the outdoors and all the wonderful things nature has to offer the church has not slowed down.

July was very busy and August is proving to be just as busy as July. In July we were able to hold a council retreat. As a group we spent a Saturday morning going over goals and looking to the future. The day after the retreat Vacation Bible School started and was quite a success. For any of you who were able to come to VBS or the Wednesday night service it was great to see all the children and adults having fun.

Even though Pastor George is on vacation, Council continued their meetings and trying to organize things for the upcoming year.  Rally Day and God’s Work Our Hands will be held on September 10. The new Faith Formation schedule starts on the 17th. There are lots of things planned for all ages. Don’t forget to check out the calendar and see what is coming up. You just might want to attend one of the activities. Beside all the regular team meetings call committee will be meeting the end of the month.

So even though we are trying to enjoy summer and waiting patiently for a new pastor we are continuing to do God’s work.

Remember:

You also must be patient. Keep your hopes high, for the day of the Lord’s coming is near.
(James 5:8)

A good motto for Holy Trinity: ” We must be patient, keep our hopes high and the day that a new pastor will arrive is coming. Hopefully that day is near but we must be patient and keep up the good work.”

Have a great rest of the summer and a relaxing and safe Labor Day. Don’t forget on the 10th we will go back to two services.

Blessings,

Martha Belanger

Council President
