Come join other families from Holy Trinity to help spring clean Calumet. This year's date is May 4-6. Your accommodations and food are provided for free in exchange for your washing, digging, wood stacking, and raking skills. We found out last year that they work rain or shine! Please contact Calumet directly to reserve your spot (email@example.com). Ask for the conference center where the other families are. You can also just come up for the day. Contact Leslie Carson with any questions at firstname.lastname@example.org
Dover Friendly Kitchen will be on Tuesday, February 27 at 4:00 PM at St. Thomas in Dover. For more info, speak with Bonnie Sanders, Jill Schock, or the church office.
Each of the five Wednesdays between Ash Wednesday and Holy Week will begin with a Monastery Meal from 5:15- 5:45pm. This meal will be simple soups, stews, or casseroles with bread and beverage. The Lenten service using Holden Vespers follows at 6:00pm. Various teams have signed up for most weeks, however there is still an opening for February 28th. The free will offering taken at each meal will be used to help fund our Youth Group's trip to the Youth Gathering in Houston this summer. Please let the church office know if your group could prepare the meal on the 28th.
Thank you to all who donated the 55 items. These socks, gloves, scarves etc. were donated to Operation Blessing and to The Salvation Army.
What a season of welcome it is at Holy Trinity! Now as we welcome a new pastor and celebrate that All Are Welcome in This Place, we are introducing OH! - a new ministry strategy of working together intentionally to Optimize our already high level of Hospitality. Join the discussion as we lay the Biblical basis and foundations for OH! and share ideas about how each of us can make Holy Trinity even warmer and more welcoming for current and prospective members as well as the community.
BGLibrary Movie Night will be held on Thursday, February 15, at 7:00 PM. This month’s movie is The Kite Runner. "Two young boys are inseparable friends until one fateful act tore them apart. Years later, one embarks on a dangerous quest to right the wrongs of the past." The movie is full of themes of courage and devotion. It's particularly timely in the midst of issues around immigration.
Ladies the Women's Retreat will be the first weekend of March (2-4). This is an opportunity to worship, build friendships, rest, and have fun. The cost of the weekend is $161 but if you can only join us for Saturday you only pay for the meals you eat. If you are only going up on Saturday, breakfast is $8, lunch is $12 and dinner is $18.
The theme this year is Silver Boxes, the girt of encouragement inspired by the book of the same title by Christian writer Florence Littauer. Leslie Carson is working on another fun filled Saturday evening called "How Do I Unlock this Box?". The activity will be similar to last year's puzzle room and will be just as much fun! She asks that you bring something festive to wear that came from another country. Room sign-up, registration forms for Calumet (both weekend and Saturday) and map of the rooms will be on the Kiosk in the gathering area. We will be changing our Friday night dining experience to Hobbs which is on the left just before you take the right hand turn for camp. We will be meeting at 6:30 with our first gathering to start at 8:30 in the Micah room.
If you have any questions or not sure if this type of a weekend is right for you feel free to chat with Jill Schock or the church office. We would love to see some new faces even if it is only for Saturday!
Tables of Eight is a fantastic way to get to know other members of Holy Trinity in a smaller group setting. Signup sheets for the 2018 Tables of Eight are now located on the rotating kiosk next to the library. If you were on the 2017 list, then you don’t need to sign up again. Alternatively, if you wish to no longer be part of Tables of 8, speak with the church office.
VITA volunteers will prepare Personal Income Tax Returns at Holy Trinity on February 11 and March 11 beginning at Noon and end around 5 PM. The maximum income should be about $65,000 or less. If you have any questions, please see Dave Arrington .
The Psalms, a three-part Adult Forum will begin on Sunday, January 28 between services and continue on February 4 & 18. On January 28, the topic for the adult forum is “Exploring the Psalms.” We will be exploring the types of Psalms, writing some of our own and singing Psalms.
