The People of God - Acts 2:1-21 The Holy Spirit comes at Pentecost. Acts 2:22-47 Peter’s message convicted sinners, who repented and were baptized and filled with Holy Spirit. Romans 11 Paul explains God’s love for the Jews and Gentiles. Ephesians 4 Paul explains the unity and maturity of the believing Church. Review: God’s Word describes the diversity and unity of the Church. Those who truly know God are saved by His Son and transformed by His Spirit. 

God’s Kingdom: His Plan for History - Daniel 1: Daniel resolved to remain faithful to the Lord, even in captivity. Daniel 2: God revealed through Daniel the interpretation of the king's dream. Daniel 6: Daniel was saved from death in the lions' den. Daniel 7: God gave Daniel a vision of the final judgment. Review of Daniel 1-2,6-7: God gave Daniel extraordinary vision to see the immediate and distant future. God's rule and reign in history and eternity shall not fail.

Rev. 4: John's Vision of the Throne of God - Rev. 4:1-8 The Lord gave John a visionary entrance into heaven. The heavenly beings surrounded the Lord's throne and declared Him to be holy. Rev. 4:8-9 The holiness of God makes Him distinct from His creation. Rev. 4:9-11 The elders fell down at the feet of the throne in worship of the Lord. Review of Revelation 4: John's vision of heaven was filled with awesome displays of God's majesty and creation's worship.  God's rule is eternal and inspires ceaseless worship. 

Rev. 5: The Scroll and the Slain Lamb - Rev. 5:1-7 John saw a heavenly scroll with seven seals. Rev. 5:6-10 The heavenly creatures bowed before the One who took the scroll. The heavenly beings sang a new song as they fell in worship before the Lamb. Rev. 5:11-14 Thousands of angels joined in praise. Review of Revelation 5: The One worthy to open the scroll is declared and worshipped. Jesus died for God's people and is uniquely worthy to accomplish God's purposes. 

Joel 1:1-3:21; 2 Peter 3: God's Righteous Resolution - the Day of the Lord. Joel 1:1-2:11 Joel prophesied complete destruction because of people's rebellion. Joel 2:13-27 God called on His people to return to Him and be saved from His wrath. Joel 2:28-3:21 Joel prophesied the universal cataclysmic impact of the Lord's return.  2 Peter 3 Peter warns believers to be prepared for the return of the Lord.Review of Joel; 2 Peter 3: The day of the Lord will be a time of ultimate refuge for God's people and judgment of His enemies. God calls His people to live in the reality that he will come as Judge. 

Rev. 6: The First Six Seals - Rev. 6:1-4 The Lamb opened the first two seals. Rev. 6:5-8 The Lamb opened the second two seals. Rev. 6:9-11 The opening of the fifth seal revealed martyrs under the altar. Rev. 6:12-17 The opening of the sixth seal revealed cataclysmic catastrophe. Review of Revelation 6: The opening of the first six seals revealed devastation to an extent never seen before. The only refuge from the coming wrath is Jesus Christ!
