Rev. 2:8-11 Jesus commended the church in Smyrna for their faithful endurance and encouraged the church in Smyrna with the promise of the victor's crown. Rev. 2:1-11 Jesus revealed to the churches that He knows them and calls on them to stand firm in their faith. Review: Jesus knows His people perfectly and directs their lives toward love and perseverance in suffering. Rev. 2:12-17 Jesus commended Pergamum church's faithfulness and challenged followers of false teachers to repent. Rev. 2:18-29 Jesus commended Thyatira church's love and service and challenged the toleration of the church of Thyatira. Review: Jesus calls us to awaken, reject wrong thinking and repent from sin. Rev. 3: Jesus Challenges the Churches - Rev. 3:1-6 Jesus challenged the church at Sardis to awaken and repent. Rev. 3:7-10 The Lord commended the church in Philadelphia for their faith. Rev. 3:11-13 The Lord promised blessings to the faithful upon His return. Rev. 3:14-18 The Lord declares the church in Laodicea is Lukewarm. Rev. 3:14-22 The Lord says He rebukes and disciplines those He loves. Rev. 7-22 Jesus commended Philadelphia, yet rebuked Laodicea, for their faith.
